Rosters Released

Build your team for Thrudball 2021

We hope you are all staying safe and well and ensuring that you are managing your new lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is not ideal, but our faith in the Blood Bowl Community is strong, and we know we will still be around no matter what. Even better, it looks like we're on track to run the event, so without further ado, here is the lowdown on roster building!

The Tiers

The roster rules will be familiar to those who've been with us in previous years. We've adopted a tiering system where different races receive appropriate numbers of skills to suit their quality. This year, however, we've also taken the step to provide some tiers with more money. To suit our inclusive event, we're aiming for everyone to be able to have fun, no matter which race they bring (looking at you, Ogres).

The Stars

In addition to the official stars (we've only invited stars to play for Tiers 7 and 8), we also have two Thrudball stars, who will play for any team (apart from Shambling Undead). Thrud himself is taking the pitch after a mammoth drinking session, while the Goblin Gymir is also to be found fouling Elves at every opportunity.

Remember that you can buy a Gymir miniature to celebrate the life of a much missed member of our community.

The Skills

We aren't into boring duplications at Thrudball, so if you wanted to spam Guard, you're out of luck. Each player must have a unique combination of skills, so a Dwarf team can have a Lineman with Guard, another with Guard/Mighty Blow and a third with Guard/Stand Firm, but can't simply go Guard Guard Guard. That means coaches have to be more careful about how they use their limited skills package.

Lastly, we'd like to extend a massive thank you to our testers and to Sann0638 especially, who made our roster generator.
